Behind the scenes at Lily in June

A little more

My role in the roomTimeline translator, detail keeper, and the calm voice that knows what happens next

My Lily in June superpower

Turning complexity into calm. Mandi can hold a full event in her head, spot the next need early, and keep everyone moving without making the room feel rushed.

Before the flowers

How we
became us.

Before Lily in June, Steph and I spent years side by side in Downtown Houston hospitality, running packed restaurants and bars and becoming queens of cooler organization and inventory. In 2018, we designed, built, and opened one final restaurant concept together. At the same time, Steph was quietly dreaming up Lily in June. When Lily in June opened as its own business in 2019, our teamwork simply found a new home. Steph sees possibility everywhere. I am usually the one asking what happens next, building the timeline, organizing the cooler, and making sure no detail gets left behind. We work because she dreams big and I genuinely love turning all those moving pieces into a plan. It is a little chaos, a lot of trust, and somehow always us.

Off the clock

Where you’ll
find me.

At yoga

Trading timelines and floor plans for a little movement and a quieter hour

In a book

Catching up on the latest read or planning what is next in the stack

At the craft table

Making something colorful, usually with snacks, good company, and plenty of conversation

Tap for the highly unofficial truth

Very human
confessions.

What is the Costco situation?

Also addicted. Costco is both an errand and an outing, and leaving with only what was on the list would be suspicious.

Is there an Amazon package coming?

Almost certainly. If there is not one on the porch, there is probably one out for delivery.

Online shopping weakness?

A good SHEIN find, a full cart, and the deeply satisfying moment when the tracking finally says delivered.

Superwoman all the time?

No. Some days start with yoga and end with wedding magic. Other days are toddler negotiations, a half-finished craft, and reading one more chapter anyway.

The real rhythm

A week at
Lily in June.

Monday + Tuesday

Client and sales calls, timelines, weddings, floor plans, and all things logistics

Wednesday

A Houston flower run to touch and approve every stem before it reaches the shop

Thursday

Décor pulls, packing, load-in plans, centerpieces, and production in full swing

Friday

Rehearsals, wedding-party reassurance, and making sure everyone knows exactly what comes next

Saturday

Show time, from before sunrise until every couple has had the best day ever

Sunday

Rest, books, crafts, family time, and absolutely no timelines

The current chapter

Right now, I’m…

Reading

Whatever is next in the stack

Managing

Timelines, logistics, and approximately 47 tiny details

Protecting

The couple’s peace on wedding day

More personality, less polish
